HR 2749 worse than H 875

Thursday, July 30th, 2009
ORIGINAL CAPTION: Westside San Joaquin Valley grower-shipper Michael Gragnani and his wife, Lisa, were among the crowd of 2,000 that gathered in Fresno, Calif., July 1 to rally for more domestic and irrigation water for the valley and Southern California. “I have 1,000 fallow acres that I’ve planted in row crops in previous years,” Gragnani says. “I had to use what little water I’m getting for my permanent crops: almonds, pistachios and pomegranates.” (Don Schrack)

THE DEATH OF LIBERTY: THE FINAL SCENE UNFOLDS

Crime Scene USAWhen police investigators begin amassing evidence at a crime scene, the bits and pieces of the puzzle begin to take shape. Usually, with several trained men and women working together to come up with an answer, the intent and actions of the perpetrator are almost always revealed.

Since my core training and experience over many years was as a state level enforcement officer, I have worked crime scenes that were large, complex and conflicting. With enough time, effort and resolve, we too, were able to bring the bad guys to account.

You certainly do not have to be a trained state trooper—or any other level police agent—to use common sense, logic and knowledge, to assess the crime scene that has become the socialist states of amerika.

I continue to be at a loss to explain how it is that so many tens of millions of amerikans simply do not see the utter destruction of their former republic by socialists, one worlders, deviates, liars and thieves. The men in black have been roving the country flashing their memory erasers around the clock. Let’s take a check on how things are really going.

Texas Scorched by Worst Drought in 50 Years

Thursday, July 30th, 2009
Texas is America’s 2nd largest food-producing state, right behind Calif. Both have see extreme drought.

A combination of record-high heat and record-low rainfall has pushed south and central Texas into the region’s deepest drought in a half century, with $3.6 billion of crop and livestock losses piling up during the past nine months.

The heat wave has drastically reduced reservoirs and forced about 230 public water systems to declare mandatory water restrictions. Lower levels in lakes and rivers have been a blow to tourism, too, making summer boating, swimming and fishing activities impossible in some places.

There is a Hunger Coming Like a Run-Away Freight Train: Created by Congress

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

I’ve driven the almost 400 mile stretch of Interstate 5 from L.A. to Sacramento dozens of times. Quite honestly, it’s as boring as it gets with only the usual gas stations, mini-marts, fast-food, home-cookin’ restaurants, and strangely a newer batch of Starbuck’s Coffee shops sprouting up everywhere. In between… farms, orchards, cattle, and dirt.

On July 15th, as I began my trip to Utah, I came off the Grapevine decline and hit the flat 250 or so mile stretch of interstate which begins the farming belt in the valley. Almost immediately I noticed what I had only heard about on the radio and in the papers. Where once there were vast fields of green, now there where empty, barely recognizable rows of unplanted dirt and growing weeds. Only sporadically at first, but once I passed Bakersfield and for about a 200 mile stretch, I could not believe my eyes. Field after field laid fallow. And not really fallow, but unattended… as if it was not going to be planted in the near future either.

Temple Institute to Build Sacrificial Altar on Tisha B’av

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Building Altar(IsraelNN.com) The Temple Institute will begin building the sacrificial altar on Thursday, Tisha B’av, a fast day when Jews mourn the destruction of the Temple some 2,000 years ago.

The sacrificial altar was located in the center of the Temple, and upon it the Kohanim (priests) offered the numerous voluntary and obligatory sacrifices commanded in the Bible.

The Temple Institute, which has already built many of the vessels for the Holy Temple, such as the ark and the menorah, has now embarked on a project to build the altar. Construction begins Thursday in Mitzpe Yericho (east of Jerusalem) at 5:30 p.m.

Calif. farmers say feds make drought worse

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009
Sections of Todd Allen's farm are only dirt in even rows. His says he hasn't planted on that land this year because he can't get water for it. FIREBAUGH, Calif. — The road to Todd Allen’s farm wends past irrigation canals filled with the water that California‘s hot Central Valley depends on to produce vegetables and fruit for the nation. Yet not a drop will make it to his barren fields.

Three years into a drought that evokes fears of a modern-day dust bowl, Allen and others here say the culprit now isn’t Mother Nature so much as the federal government. Court and regulatory rulings protecting endangered fish have choked the annual flow of water from California’s Sierra mountains down to its people and irrigated fields, compounding a natural dry spell.

Faith in Difficult Times

Faith in Difficult Times

Now faith is the substance (realization) of things hoped for, the evidence (conviction) of things not seen’ (Hebrews 11:1-2)

Faith. Of all aspects of a Christian’s life, faith, or the lack of it, is the focal point in the development of the desired form the Master Potter would have us become. Our future depends on developing faith in our Creator and believing every word He imparts to us.

This aspect is under our control. Each of us is responsible for growing in faith! No human being has the level of faith Jesus Christ exhibited while He lived on earth. Yet, by His example we are to exercise this character trait to the best of our ability.

Further, the Master Potter molds us by permitting trials and tests to come upon us, and He teaches us through these lessons so we might become a person of great trusting faith. To that end, there is the need to ask ourselves, how much of this kind of faith do we have? How do we exercise or increase this vital element that God says we need in order to please Him?

Through the apostle Paul, Christ tells us: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). Have we ever asked ourselves, “What is faith?” This Scripture explains it very well. First, we must believe God exists. Second, we must believe that God rewards (literally pays) those who “diligently seek Him.”

New NATO as Germany Returns To World Military Stage

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Rick Rozoff writes: When the post-World War II German states the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic, West and East Germany, respectively, were united in 1990, it was for many in Europe and the world as a whole a heady time, fraught with hopes of a continent at peace and perhaps disarmed.

Despite US pledges to the last president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) would not move “one inch” eastward, what German reunification achieved was that the former German Democratic Republic joined not only the Federal Republic but NATO and the military bloc moved hundreds of kilometers nearer the Russian border, over the intervening years to be joined by twelve Eastern European nations. Five of those twelve new NATO members were republics of Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union itself, neither of which any longer exists.

Far from issuing in an era of disarmament and a Europe free of military blocs – or even of war – the merging of the two German states and the simultaneous fragmentation of the Eastern Bloc and, a year later, the USSR was instead followed by a Europe almost entirely dominated by a US-controlled global military alliance.

…..Know that It is Near

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009
Jesus Christ foretold major historic events would indicate the imminence off His Second Coming. Those significant developments now dominate today’s headlines and newscasts as never before. Yet, most people are totally unprepared for what they portend for all off mankind.

When Jesus Christ’s disciples asked Him what would be the sign of His Second Coming and end of the age, He outlined a list of profound developments to heed and observe, concluding, “So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near, at the very doors (Matthew 24:3, Mark 13:29).” Conversely, Christ said the vast majority of people would be oblivious to the events – ignorant and indifferent about their meaning and how they would adversely impact everyone on earth. What were these conditions He forewarned would converge to jeopardize the lives of millions of people prior to His return to establish the Kingdom of God?

“‘But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.’ Then He said to them, ‘Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven’ (Luke 21:9-11).”

Swine flu is spreading even in summer

Monday, July 20th, 2009

swine fluExperts, who expected a seasonal slowdown, think that more than a million Americans have been infected with pandemic H1N1 influenza. They say a rise in cases is likely when school starts.

The pandemic H1N1 influenza virus is unexpectedly continuing to spread easily through the United States during the summer months, and health authorities expect a bump in transmission in about six weeks, when school goes back into session — perhaps two or three months earlier than is normally seen with seasonal flu.
